Engineered Safety

Our automated die cleaning systems were invented for one primary purpose: make an unsafe and risky industrial process SAFE.

  • Residual Solution Lockout

    • Solution: After a cleaning cycle, any remaining caustic in the reactor creates a clear risk during loading or unloading. Dual redundant empty-level sensors monitor the tank bottom. If liquid is detected, a control-reliable pneumatic circuit immediately locks the lid closed. Alarms alert the operator and flag any sensor disagreement, so the tank is confirmed empty before access is possible.

  • Lid-Closed Process Interlock

    • Solution: The machine cannot start with the reactor lid open. A dedicated safety algorithm in the safety PLC requires two independent lid switches to confirm full closure. Caustic and rinse-water feed valves, controlled through redundant pneumatic circuits, stay sealed until both switches verify the lid is closed—blocking fluid introduction until the system is secure.

  • Thermal Control Protection

    • Solution: If thermal control is lost, an overflow sensor instantly aborts the cleaning process and drains the reactor of caustic solution, stopping the cycle before conditions can escalate.

  • Exhaust and Fume Safeguards

    • Solution: Exposure to caustic fumes from an exhaust fan or variable-speed drive failure is prevented by a direct-drive TEFC motor. Should the drive fault, the system alarms the operator and aborts the cleaning cycle, maintaining a safe environment.

  • Lid Pinch Prevention

    • Solution: Each tank lid is actuated by a pneumatic cylinder under a Category 3 safety pneumatic and electrical circuit. The operator’s “Lid Close” button is momentary, so lid movement stops in either direction the instant the button is released. Dual pilot-operated solenoid valves ensure the lid cannot move unless air pressure is deliberately applied.

  • Touch-Safe Surfaces

    • Solution: Machine surfaces expected to contact the operator are insulated, eliminating the risk of hot metal during normal operation.
